Scorpion Taekwondo took a team of only 2 to this years German Open held in Hamburg. The event saw teams from all over the World taking part from Europe, Asia, North America, South America & Africa. The event had over 700 competitors with 8 competition areas being used over the two day competition. The seniors also competed on the LaJust Scoring system, the same system used at the British International last year.

Caroline fisher competed in the Senior Female -53kgs which had 30 competitors in. Caroline defeated Beatriz Palma of Spain in her 1st round match 7-0, Caz then beat Vicic Marija of Croatia 5-0 before defeating Marina Roder of Germany in her Quarter Final 5-0. Caz then faced Canadian Annie-Pier Turcotte in her Semi-Final losing out 1-3 (the Canadian the only player to score on Caz the whole day with an excellently timed head shot wining the match) Turcotte then going on to win the final 4-1. BRONZE for Caz - Well Done!

Our other player Stella Whitehead competed for the 1st time in the Female +73kg division her group having 15 competitors in including current European Champion from Sweden. Stella defeated Katharita Weis of Germany in her 1st round match 4-3 which then set up a match with the current European Champion from 2008 & silver medallist in 2006 from Sweden Karolina Kedzierska. Stella did amazing and beat the current Champion on golden point to win through to the Semi-Finals where she then faced Canadian Daria Peregoudova 2008 Pan American Champion. A Very close match saw Stella lose out on 2 warnings 0-1. Peregoudova went on to win the Final 1-0. BRONZE for Stel - Well Done!

Caz and Stella were the only British Players to medal at the tournament so another Big well done from everyone at Scorpions! so a big thankyou to Mikey Georgiou of Fusion Tkd who coached Caz in one of her matches and helped out while Pete was on the other ring with Stella.
