  • BRITISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2014

    A HUGE Congratulations to the whole Scorpion Team who competed at this year's British National Championships held in Manchester. Scorpions won 2nd Placed Team Trophy OVERALL coming behind Gurumu and also won 3rd placed Team Trophy for the advanced groups on Saturday coming behind Gurumu & The GB National Academy Team.

    Great Performances from the players, thanks to all the coaches, helpers & spectators it was a great weekend.

    GOLD MEDALS WON BY Holly Frost (Scorpion Tkd Centre) in the advanced child -23kgs winning 2 matches against Central Tkd 11-0 and her final v WLM by golden point. Macey Hennessey (Scorpion Tkd Centre) also won 2 matches in the advanced child -26kgs winning her semi final v St Katherines 10-6 and her final v Doncaster All Stars 7-5. Emily Watson (Scorpion Tkd Centre) won her Junior division AGAIN 3rd time in a row in advanced -52kgs winning 3 matches on her way to gold winning her 1st match v Anfield 12-2, Emily then won her semi final v St Katherines by 12 point gap after two rounds 16-1 before winning her final v Ultimate Tkd 6-4. Simone Abley (Consett Scorpions) was another former winner winning advanced Cadet -59kgs winning her semi final v Central 14-13 before winning her final v Chi Tkd 4-1 referee stoppage. Stella Whitehead (Scorpion Tkd Centre) was back competing for the first time in 2 years winning her 10th National Title Stella won her semi final v WLM on golden point in the advanced senior -67kgs before winning her final v Spitfire 4-3. Isabelle Adamsons (Scorpion Tkd Centre) Novice child -23kgs won 3 matches winning her 1st match v Kang Han 37-5, 2nd round stoppage. Isabelle then won her semi final v Gurumu 30-7 another 2nd round stoppage before winning her final also against Gurumu 23-20 to win gold scoring a whopping 90 points in her 3 matches! Laurie McLelland (Edlington Scorpions) won gold in Novice Junior -63kgs winning her 1st match 10-6 she then went onto win her final by 12 point stoppage after two rounds 18-1. Our last gold was by veteran Ian Ball (TM Scorpions) who chose to compete in senior Novice -80kgs winning his semi final by K.O he then won his final by 12 point gap.

    SILVER MEDALS WERE WON BY:

    Daniel Brown (Scorpion Tkd Centre) advanced child -38kgs, Zak Lambert (Edlington Scorpions) advanced child -48kgs, Ryan Butt (TM Scorpions) advanced junior -55kgs, Kevin Lidgett (Scorpion Tkd Centre) advanced senior -87kgs, Emily Watson (Scorpion Tkd Centre) advanced senior -53kgs, Sam Fairhurst (Edlington Scorpions) Novice child -23kgs, Stephen Johnson (TM Scorpions) Novice cadet -37kgs, Ryan Holmes (Scorpion Tkd Centre) Novice senior -80kgs.

    BRONZE MEDALS WERE WON BY:
