  • British National Championships 2012 - Scorpions win 4 Advanced Senior Titles & 1 Junior Advanced group

This years British National Championships took place over the weekend of the 8th & 9th September 2012 at the Manchester Velodrome. Over 600 competitors took part with more than 73 clubs in attendance. Scorpions this year had a mixture of experienced players and also a chance for some of our young up & coming kids to compete at National level.

Two of our most experienced players didnt let us down winning their 12th (twelth) & 9th (ninth) GOLD MEDALS.

Saturdays groups were just for the advanced players who competed on the Daedo electronic body protectors. Cadets/Juniors & Seniors. Scorpions only had two cadets enter this year however one player (Ben Tucker) was unable to compete due to no entries in his division therefore was unable to win a medal for the team.

Results - CAROLINE FISHER yet again proved she was still at the top of her weight group (senior female -53kgs) winning GOLD & becoming BRITISH CHAMPION for the 12th time! An outstanding achievement for anyone. Caz defeated her 1st opponent in style with a K.O after two head shots against Hynes of Stoke UTA Club, her 2nd match was against Seward of St Katherines who she beat after two rounds 18-0 (12 point gap rule) in the semi-final. Caz won Gold in the final after another 12 point stoppage against Gratsa of Doncaster All Stars 13-1. Her incredible record is below:

Ben who has only been back training a year after a 10 year absence faced Thornton of Quest Tkd in the quarter final winning the Quest player 11-5 which set up a semi-final against Daryl Stokes. Unfortunatley Daz was injured in his quarter final and unable to compete in the semi-final therefore Ben received a bye.
